History of TU and Darwin
“Our aim at Territory Uniforms is to supply quality service & products at competitive prices while continually striving to improve”
Territory Uniforms was first established in 1970 and began as Judy’s Uniform Shop supplying school uniforms to Darwin.
The business grew and started increasing its offerings to include corporate and industrial wear, selling brands like Hard Yakka, King Gee and Neat n Trim.
Mark and Diana purchased the business in November 1997 and haven’t looked back.
First they increased their market over the years to now offer to all the following styles and industries: of corporate, casual, polo’s, workwear and industrial, chef and hospitality, health services, sports, selected footwear and PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
They have helped the business grow from its humble beginnings of school uniforms to now catering to more industries than any other business in the industry here in Darwin and the NT for that matter.
Territory Uniforms also offers in house embroidery and started with a single head machine but now have 9 heads. They eventually added heat press as a value adding option and still employ a dressmaker to help with all their alterations and custom fitting needs.
Finally settling in 1/22 Benison Street in Winnellie in 2019, Territory Uniforms is in its largest store and warehouse space. Working with the needs of Darwin and the Territory, they now have a dedicated retail floor offering the option to come try and buy on the spot. With a large warehouse they are able to carry stock, you’re more able than ever to find the right gear and the right size on the day avoiding ordering and delivery delays.
Territory Uniforms are a proud family based Territory owned business and they want you to be proud of your business and the business you represent by sourcing the best quality brands fabric and garments and ensuring the best final product when you have your logo and personalized details also proudly displayed on your chest, sleeve or back of your garments.
2020 has been a crazy year for the whole world but no one has been impacted more than small businesses. We are lucky and very grateful of the ongoing support of our loyal customers who continue to order all the uniform needs and helped the business become stronger than ever. We are also aware of how times have changed and it’s not always possible to walk in to a ‘store with a door’ anymore. So we are building our services especially our website so that you can shop from your computer in the comfort of your home or from your social distance aware workspace.
We have made a lot of improvements to our business and our structure and finetuning our Policies and Procedures to ensure our customers expectations are met with regards to quality, cost, and timing.
