Send your logo
Email artwork to sales@territoryuniforms.com or bring it in. Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG) work best; a high-resolution PNG or JPG is usually fine.

We digitise it
Your logo is rebuilt as a stitch file, set up for the garment and placement you've chosen. A one-off cost per logo.

You approve the sample
We stitch it out so you're looking at the real thing. Nothing goes into production until it's signed off.

We run the order
Garments are decorated in the workshop. We call you when they're ready to collect, or we deliver.

Artwork
What digitising actually is.
Embroidery can't read an image file. Your logo has to be rebuilt as a stitch path — deciding direction, density, underlay, and what happens to fine detail at chest size. We do that here, which is why small text and thin lines come out readable instead of turning to mush.
We don't design logos from scratch, so artwork needs to arrive ready to use. What we will do is adapt it for fabric: resizing, simplifying detail that won't survive stitching, and matching colours to thread. Send it through and we'll tell you what needs changing.

How long does embroidery take?
Stock held in the Winnellie store can be embroidered without waiting on freight. Uniforms ordered in from a supplier typically take two to three weeks to arrive, with decoration once they land. New logos add time for digitising, and name personalisation adds a separate setup per name. Lead times are a guide only.
Can you embroider garments bought elsewhere?
Generally, no. We decorate garments we have supplied. Fabrics from other suppliers are often unsuited to decoration, and we can't carry the risk of damaging a garment we didn't sell. What file format do you need for my logo?
A vector file (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) gives the best result. A high-resolution PNG or JPG usually works too. Artwork needs to be supplied ready to use, but we can adapt it to suit stitching.
Do I pay for digitising every time?
No. Digitising is a one-off setup for each logo. We keep the stitch file, so reorders skip that step entirely.
Can each staff member have their own name embroidered?
Yes. Individual names, position titles or both can be added alongside your logo across a team order.
Do you do printing as well as embroidery?
Yes — full colour heat transfers and sublimation are done in house, and screen printing is arranged through local partners. Embroidery suits logos on shirts, caps and jackets; printing suits large or photographic designs. See all our branding services.
Placement
Where the logo goes, and how big.
Placement decides how a logo reads more than size does. These are the positions we stitch most, with the widths they usually sit at — a guide, not a rule, because a wide logo and a tall one behave differently at the same measurement.
| Left chest | Around 8–10cm wide. The default on polos, business shirts and work shirts. |
| Right chest | Same size, usually a staff name or a second mark opposite the logo. |
| Back yoke | Up to about 25cm across the shoulders. What makes a crew identifiable from behind, which is the point on a site. |
| Sleeve | Narrow. Good for a secondary mark, a qualification badge or a phone number. |
| Cap front | Around 5cm high on a structured front. Fine detail closes up at this size. |
| Beanie cuff | Small and shallow — simple marks only. |

Pricing
What moves the price.
We quote the job rather than publish a rate, because four things change what a run costs and they change independently of each other.
| Stitch count | The real driver. A dense, detailed logo takes more thread and more machine time than a simple one at the same width. |
| How many positions | A left chest is one setup. Chest plus back plus a name is three, and the garment is handled three times. |
| Digitising | A one-off cost the first time a logo is set up. It is not charged again on reorders, which is why the second order is cheaper than the first. |
| Quantity | Setup is spread across the run. Ten shirts cost more each than a hundred do. |

Methods
When stitching is not the right answer.
Embroidery is the default for uniforms because it survives industrial laundering and a Darwin work year, but it is not right for everything. Three things push a job towards print instead.
| Photographs and gradients | Thread cannot blend. Anything photographic is a heat transfer or a sublimated garment. |
| Very large designs | A full back print in stitch is heavy, stiff and expensive. Print handles the size better. |
| Lightweight technical fabrics | Fine sports knits can pucker under a dense stitch. A transfer sits on top without stressing the fabric. |

You can send us garments you already own, but most orders start from our own range — core lines are held here in Winnellie, so the decoration starts the day you approve the sample rather than when a supplier down south gets around to it.
